Total Mobility/Ridewise

DRC Southland is a registered assessor agency for the Total Mobility/Ridewise subsidised taxi scheme.

The scheme is for people with disabilities, and each trip entitles the user to a maximum subsidy of $25 per one way trip. Our assessor will help work out how many trips per week you are eligible for and if you qualify for the scheme.

Who is eligible for Total Mobility Subsidised Taxis?

The scheme is available to people who because of physical, sensory, intellectual, neurological or psychological disability are unable to:

• proceed to the nearest bus stop

• board and ride securely

• proceed from the destination stop to the trip end without assistance

How do I apply?

Call us at DRC Southland on 214 5000 to make an assessment appointment time. The assessments are done at our Gala St, Invercargill premises and take about 15 minutes to complete. We also take your photograph for your Ridewise card.
